To Check your IRCTC PNR Status online, just enter your 10-digit Passenger Name Record (PNR number) below and click on the Submit button.

What is PNR Status

You might have come across this term often, but have you wondered what it actually means? PNR refers to Passenger Name Record. It is a 10-digit unique identification number which holds passenger information like Name, Age, Seat Number, Train Number, Journey Details, e.t.c.

This number is located on the top-left corner of your printed or e-ticket. On the other hand, IRCTC PNR Status lets you know the current status of your railway booking. You can know whether your ticket is Confirmed (CNF) or still in the Waiting List (WL) or RAC list.

How to Check PNR Status

IRCTC PNR Status can be checked in several ways. Although it is very simple, many users and passengers find difficulty.  As already mentioned above, just enter your 10-digit PNR number in the form and click on the Submit button. If it doesn't work for some reason, there are several other alternatives.

Through IRCTC

You can directly check your Train PNR Status by logging into Click on the 'Booking History (New)' tab and select your train number or journey date to view the current status of your booking. A good advantage of IRCTC is, you need not remember your PNR number.

Alternatively, you can also check the current PNR Status at

Official Website

Logging to Indian Railways website is a hefty process. You can skip all the trouble and just directly check the official website. Watch the video below for instructions.
